Opportunity Enterprises, Inc. is a non-profit organization in Northwest Indiana whose mission is to create sustainable life choices and opportunities for individuals with unique challenges and abilities. Opportunity Enterprises provides early intervention, transition, residential, occupational, and educational support services to more than 1,000 children and adults with developmental, emotional, and/or physical disabilities in Northwest Indiana.

Funds raised in 2010 will be used for growth and development of OE Lakeside, and will be matched dollar for dollar by the Dean and Barbara White Family Foundation.

Group training runs with water stops will take place on Saturday and Sunday mornings in Porter County and on Sunday mornings in Lake County.
Fundraising Requirements

Runners who register before midnight on the day the Bank of America Chicago Marathon officially closes, will pay a registration fee of $50 and will raise at least $250 in addition, for a total of $300.

Runners who register after midnight on the day the Bank of America Chicago Marathon officially closes, or on any subsequent days following it, will pay a registration fee of $150 and will raise at least $350 in addition, for a total of $500.

The Galloway Program will be offered In addition to the traditional 18-week training program in both Lake and Porter Counties for an additional $100 fundraising committment.

This fundraising minimum is meant to be a low minimum. The average Bank of America Chicago Marathon 2009 charity runner raised $1,150. We would appreciate for you to set your fundraising goal at $1,000. We offer fundraising tips throughout the training season to provide you with feedback and support in your efforts to reach this goal.

Runners who have already registered for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and wish to become a member of the OE Marathon team, will raise a minimum of $200.

All fundraising monies must be submitted to the Marathon Team Coordinators no later than September 25, 2010. Runners who do not turn in their fundraising minimum on time, should understand that their packet and bib number will be pulled by Team Coordinators, and they will not be able to run the marathon or receive any of the team’s benefits.

If for any reason, including injury, a runner decides not to complete the training program, he or she will reimburse Opportunity Enterprises in the amount of $250 minus their registration fee, which covers all costs the agency has incurred on their behalf.
Thank you to all of our Amazing runners who made the 2009 OE Marathon Team such a huge success. We had a record-breaking year with 475 runners raising over $220,000 for the clients of Opportunity Enterprises. We are proud of all of you. Let’s break some more records next year!
